Students Can Advantage From 2 Pell Grants

Federal Pell Grant

If you are a student who just got in college and you think that you will not really be able to make it through it without getting a grant, then why not check your eligibility for a Federal Pell Grant? In 2010, the eligibility can be used to get double the money that you were scheduled to receive during your school year.

The fact that the Pell Grant will be offered twice in the same year is really something that it’s a first. The students who will be joining in order to get it, will have to have the money given to them by their school. So what are the steps that one will need to take in order to benefit from FAFSA? If you were an eminent and conscious student and decided to delve into the summer courses, then you will certainly be eligible for a second award.

But the summer courses are just the beginning and there are many other things you will need to consider after them. One of the things that you will be required to cross check is to have had your 1st Pell grant award year finished, before you will get to take advantage from the grant that the summer courses will yield. You will also need to have earned at least twenty four credit hours between the spring & fall semesters of the prior year.

You will also need to not have your life experience credits, IB or AP credits included in order to benefit from the grant & finally, you need to be enrolled for credit hours that will go into your 2nd academic year in the year of the award.

So, if you are someone who will decide to enroll in the majority of the summer college sessions, you will see that you will become eligible for the grant that will be based on the prior year’s award or the next year’s. Also, you should know that the law states clearly that the awards will need to be given in the year that the student will have paid the most money.

The summer courses you have delved in will be worth more than 1 credit when compared to the ones in the autumn or in the spring time, if there will be more Pell Grants offered. If found to be eligible for a second Pell Grant while you are at the same time benefiting from your first, your school will need to pay for it regardless.
