Scholarship For An Ability Or Disability

My father was left-handed.  But, as a kid, he strove to make his right hand perform just about anything his left hand can do.  And he was successful.  My father managed to be an ambi dexterous.  He was artistic and used his hands with great skill.  My mother was left-handed too!  She was good at drawing and repairing things. 

People say that left-handed people are more talented than right-handed people.  Left-handed people are excellent when it comes to math.  That is exactly what I am.  As a kid, my father and mother noticed that I used my left hand to do just about anything.  They corrected it at first, but they soon grew tired and allowed me to do my thing.  But these proved to be unsuccessful.

After high school graduation, I wanted to go to college but we did not have the money for it.  I was good in Math, but not that good.  Some students were way better.  So when I tried to get a scholarship for Math, I failed.  That was until a friend of mine, who was left-handed too, introduced me to left handed scholarships.  I was amazed to find out that one can actually get college financing just for being left-handed. 

So I applied and immediately got a 50% scholarship on my college tuition.  Now, I am on my way to college without any fear of dropping out for lack of finances.  when I told my sister about this scholarship, she was excited and kissed me.  She is graduating high school in a year and will be off to start college.  Coming from a hard up family, she will surely have the same problem.  But college is not something we should be worrying over, thanks to a scholarship suited for our quality.   

It was funny to know that aside from left handed scholarships. There are other forms of wacky scholarships too.  Some institutions actually offer scholarships for vegetarian students.  There is also a $1,000 scholarship for those good at duck-calling.  There is also a scholarship offered to students who have funny last names.  Now, getting a scholarship is not only for those who excel academically because there are weird scholarships which can also help ordinary people like me.
