Buying and selling used cars is a huge business.  In a time when finances are tight for a lot of people it will grow bigger.More and more people need to sell the cars that they can’t maintain. While people that needs to buy a car will instead opt for a used car rather than a new one.Maintenance records are now important in the information age.  Mainly because used cars records are so easily viewed.  Cars maintained better will get more money.So it will be very important to maintain your cars.

You may have seen those commercials where a buyer is demanding to look at the cars maintenance records.That will be something not so unbelievable.As more people learn of this service the would want to avail of it too.  So if you plan on selling your car you better keep good records. Whenever I service any client at my San Diego auto repair shop I make sure they always get a record of their service. The number of clients that think that this is not important may surprise you.

It can be very very helpful.An example would be when you don’t want to buy a car that has not been maintained well because of stricter smog laws.  I get cars in all the time while checking them at my San Diego smog check shop who fail because of improper maintenance. Cars that get tuneups regularly would most probably be the cars that will pas these smog tests.The cars that usually fail are the cars that are not ususally maintained.

It can also be applied to the brakes.By not taking good care of your brakes will lead to more complicated and more expensive problems.  Just by doing regular maintenance for my clients at my San Diego brake shop I have been able to save them hundreds if not thousands on extra expenses.And it might also save your and others lives by taking care of these brakes.
