Arizona State Still Offers Students A Variety Of College Scholarhips

From this pool of applicants, Sun Charities selects 10 recipients, who in turn, get $1,000 each.

The Arizona College Scholarship Foundation (ACSF) is another pro-education organization who is actually composed of smaller, more local philanthropic societies. It is the major administrator of the ASCS Scholarship, which awards $6,000 a year to top high school students. That isn’t all though. The ACSF also provides its recipients group training, on-school and workplace mentoring and more. All recipients are selected by criteria set by the local groups working with the ACSF.

Arizona’s Board of Regents has its own program to meet this level of academic excellence. If a student graduates with a 3.25 grade average (with all core classes not scoring lower than a 3.0), and the student scores high on his or her ACT, he or she will receive a full tuition waiver to one of the state’s schools. This scholarship is also renewable as long as high grades are maintained.

One very interesting scholarship is the Arizona Counselor of the Year Award. Each year, the state chooses a high school counselor for this award. In turn, the counselor then gets to choose one of his or her students for a $500 scholarship. No other criteria are involved. Information on college degrees may save you time and money.

The Arizona Business & Professional Women’s Foundation created its own scholarships to assist women get an advanced education. They cover everything from working mothers to other forms of “non-traditional” students. To find out more, one should consult the Foundation. Also, the Arizona CPA Foundation developed the High School Scholarships, so more can become accountants and auditors. Last year, it gave out $25,000 to all kinds of students of the occupations.
